My friend Anne is working on the Ryan campaign, via North Woods Advertising. They do great, great work, but the thing that confuses me a bit is I thought they worked only on left-leaning or anti-establishment politicians.
They hit the scene helping Paul Wellstone get elected--the "Where's Rudy?" commercial, while mild by today's standards, was a complete jaw-dropper at a time when the "Willie Horton/Revolving Door" ads were the state of the art. Not only was it the best political advertising I'd ever seen, it was among the best advertising, period.
North Woods then went on to get Jesse Ventura elected and they were the agency behind Ariana Huffington's anti-SUV campaign. Oh, and they did Ralph Nader's "Priceless" spots. Maybe they do work for conservative causes.
And maybe that's why in polls we advertising folks get rated below lawyers for integrity. I think that's unfair. Upgrade to Windows XP, everybody.
